it would be well worth
the extra few minutes to visit Strom Thurmond Dam and
Recreation Area.
Watch for State
Highway 221, on your left if you are driving north
on Route 28, on the South Carolina side of the lake.
Watch on your right if driving north Washington Road
(GA 104) on the Georgia side of the lake.
The Georgia side has a
wonderful park, with sandy beaches, grass areas, shade
trees, picnic areas, and swimming. The South Carolina side
has an information area, great overlooks and the
power station.
